Pennyroyal (Mentha pulegium) is used as a medicinal herb. The leaves and stems are used fresh or dried. It is also used as a tea, and has been used from ancient times to purify water.

Rat and Mice repellent: Pennyroyal seem to help protect against rats and mice. It can be planted near food storage areas to detract pests. Pennyroyal Tea: Two or three springs of Pennyroyal steeped in hot water for five minutes. Said to be good for depression. Live plant is known to repel fleas and other insects.
