Marjoram

[Marjoram]

Marjoram (Origanum vulgare) is used for seasoning in tomato, carrot, cauliflower, and spinach dishes. Sprigs are often added to a fire to impart flavor to the food above.

Grown from seed or cuttings.

Germinate: 14 days
Harvest: 60 days

Used as a powdered herb in the kitchen for soups, stuffings and sauces. It can be added to vegetables during cooking. It can also be added to breads and scones.
      Medicinal uses:

    • Used by Hippocrates as an antiseptic.
    • Used for dizzy spells.
    • Reduces hair loss.
    • Chewing leaves relieves tooth pain.
    • Marjoram Tea: Four to five fresh sprigs of fresh leaf and flower in hot water and steeped for five minutes. Often good at the first sign of illness.
